During this year's Traditional Day of the 3rd Reconnaissance and Artillery Batalion, Dr. Hermann Spörker received the Austrian Veteran's Association's Cross of Merit in Gold. CWO (ret) Walter Kirchsteiger expressed his gratitude for the support that the Traditionsverband has been providingn for many years and also the hope that the cooperation will continue to last through many coming years..
One week later, during the Fall Gathering of the Traditionsverband Dr. Spörker received the Honorary Cross in Silver of the Deutschmeisterbund, the Society preserving the tradition of the Imperial Austrian Infantry Regiment Number 4 "Hoch und Deutschmeister" (established 1696). Robert Spevak, President of the Deutschmeisterbund, in his award speech thanked Dr. Spörker and the whole Traditionsverband for the excellent cooperation and the support provided to the Deutschmeisterbund over the last ten years.
Also during the Fall Gathering we could conduct a long-awaited promotion. Lisi Posch, the wife of our Honorary Member Col (ret) Walter Posch, has for many years been supporting our Gatherings with her excellent culinary treasures. Everybody who has ever tasted her cakes during the fall gathering will be able to attest to the outstanding level of support.
After Walter's retriement last year, we could now re-shape the command structure in the Posch family home by promoting Lisi to the rank of "Brigadier in Tradition". Dr. Hermann Spörker handled the promotion in front of the assembled Traditionsverband, and we all heartily congratulate "Madam Brigadier"!
