Steyr 680 M Prototype

When in early 2018 the long-term owner of the surviving Steyr Type 680 M prototype decided to somewhat reduce his collection and address other projects, he approached us to ensure that this vehicle would find a new home where it would continue to be preserved in its (perfect!) original condition. After only short negotiations, the vehicle came to us on September 8 and will now complement our existing collection of the Steyr military vehicle line, starting with the Steyr Type 380 and 480 and running up to the Steyr 12 M 18.

This prototype was delivered to the army for initial testing in 1963 and spent a total of 170.000 km in various testing departments. It was never issued to the troops (and even has a comment in its title the precludes normal army service due its being a prototype), and thus it is perfectly preserved in its original condition, with a lot of minor differences to the later production-line models.
