Lohner Motormuli on its way to Vienna

Today, the Army Logistics Center Vienna transported the Lohner-Motormuli of ÖBB-Postbus Ltd from its Salzburg home to Vienna. This unique vehicle was manufactured in 1951, fitted with a body from the Lohner works and utilized in Tyrol until 1956, mainly for transporting tourists on the Arlberg. Today, it is still property of the Austrian Postal Service (now ÖBB-Postbus Ltd), in 2003 it was overhauled by the Army Workshops in the Vienna Arsenal, and it is normally kept in a garage in Salzburg.

Some rare treats will complete this year’s special presentation.

We are looking forward to presenting the „Muli-Population“ at the Vienna Museum for Military History in four weeks!

Merry Christmas 2018 – Our homepage is now bi-lingual!

We wish all of our members, friends and supporters a very Merry Xmas and a good start into the New Year 2019!

As a special „goodie“ we have toiled over the last six months to make our homepage bi-lingual, from now on we will provide all of our content in English as well as German. We hope this will broaden the understanding of Austrian Army motorization across borders and create interest from people who so far might have had a difficult time finding references on „what kept the Austrian Army rolling“. As always – nobody is perfect, and anybody who finds mistakes in our content (or wants to contribute additional Information) is more than welcome to contact us!
